The 2017 New Balance runDisney Collection of running shoes makes its debut at Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend presented by Cigna from January 4 to January 8, 2017 at Walt Disney World in Florida.
The collection features shoes themed to iconic Disney rides like Space Mountain, The Haunted Mansion, Mad Tea Party, and Toy Story Mania. Space Mountain and The Haunted Mansion are Vazee Pace v2 neutral running shoes; Mad Tea Party and Toy Story Mania are 880v6 stability running shoes.
Want to snap up a pair? They’re only available at runDisney Health & Fitness Expos during race weekends at Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland in California (and not online). Check NBvirtualqueue.com before each race weekend for up-to-date instructions on how to get your hands on a pair. Here are the details.
How To Buy 2017 New Balance Disney Running Shoes
For most—but not all—runDisney race weekends, register through NBvirtualqueue.com at 7 p.m. the evening before each expo day. The first day of the virtual queue is usually reserved for runners registered for that weekend’s races. Runners can sign up in the virtual queue using their bib numbers starting at 7 p.m. on the night before the first day of the expo for an appointment to buy the shoes. After the first day, the virtual queue is open to the general public.
Register in the queue the day before you want to shop. You cannot register days in advance. Basically, always check the queue for instructions the evening before you’d like to attend the expo.
For the 2017 Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend that means registered runners can sign up starting Tuesday, January 3 at 7 p.m. to purchase the shoes at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo on Wednesday, January 4. You’ll need your bib number to get a spot in the queue.
After the first expo day anyone—including the general public—can sign-up for the virtual queue. For Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, that means open queue registration begins Wednesday, January 4 at 7 p.m. for shopping appointments on Thursday, January 5. The same goes for the next day: anyone can register in the queue on Thursday, January 5 at 7 p.m. for appointments on Friday, January 6. Once all appointments are filled, the queue will close.
There will be no virtual queue on Saturday, January 7.
Adults can register for the virtual queue just once per weekend. Each person can reserve one style and size through the virtual queue, but can buy up to five more pairs in the booth for six pairs total.
After signing-up, you’ll get a text or e-mail confirming your time to head to the expo. As that time nears, you’ll get a callback text letting you know they’re ready for you. You’ve got one hour from that callback text to check in at the New Balance expo booth.
Supply may be limited as the shoes sell, so check the New Balance virtual queue for inventory and other updates. And remember, too, New Balance doesn’t always use the virtual queue. So check NBvirtualqueue.com for directions for the race weekend and day you’ll be attending the expo.
