The Disney Princess Half Marathon 2016 Weekend includes the titular Disney Princess Half Marathon, Disney Princess Enchanted 10K, Disney Glass Slipper Challenge, Disney Princess 5K, and runDisney Kids Races.

The Disney Glass Slipper Challenge asks runners to complete both the 10K on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday for a total of 19.3 miles. They’ll earn three medals total: one for each race and one for the challenge. To qualify, runners must register for the Challenge, not each race individually.

The Disney Princess Half Marathon takes runners from Epcot to Magic Kingdom and back, including a run through Cinderella Castle. The 10K and 5K courses traditionally run through Epcot and the Disney BoardWalk area.

The weekend also includes the Happily Ever After Party in Downtown Disney—a post-race celebration on Sunday—and the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex from Thursday through Saturday. Both events are free and open to the public.

The weekend’s ticketed events include the Pasta in the Park Party on Friday and Saturday nights in Epcot with a buffet pasta dinner, Disney character Meet & Greets, DJ, face painter and a reserved viewing spot for “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth,” a light, laser, and fireworks show; the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend Breakfast on Friday and Saturday after the 5K and 10K, respectively; and VIP Race Retreat Packages, which give runners access to a suite of pre- and post-race amenities.

    Hi Karla,
My name is Katelyn Rockwell and I am the program coordinator for the Catch A Lift Fund (www.catchaliftfund.com) The mission of Catch A Lift is to provide gym memberships and in home gym equipment to post 9/11 combat wounded veterans so that they can recover, rehabilitate, and reintegrate through physical fitness. We currently have over 1,800 vets in our program, and have a wait list of over 200 heroes, eager to get back into the gym. For the last 3 years we have been an official charity partner in the Walt Disney World Marathon. 2015 is our first year as a charity partner in the Disney Wine and Dine and 2016 is our first year in the Princess Half Marathon Weekend. We are looking to get out name out there in the running world as we currently have approximately 15 spots left in the Walt Disney World Marathon in January 2016. This includes 2 Dopeys and 5 Goofys. I would love to talk with you more about having your help to reach more runners. We rely heavily on the money runners raise to pay for gym memberships and home gym equipment for the vets. My email is katelyn@catchaliftfund.com if you have time to reach out.

    Thank you!
    Katelyn Rockwell
