Run Disneyland Half Marathon 2014 Races For Charity
So you didn’t get into any of the Disneyland Half Marathon 2014 races including the Dumbo Double Dare, the Disneyland 10K or the Disneyland Half Marathon? It was a record sell-out for runDisney this year. But limited entries are still available through charity and tour groups.
The major Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend races and events sold-out even faster than the 26 hours from last year for a new runDisney record.
All 35,500 of the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend‘s running bibs sold out within 12 hours and 13 minutes. The Dumbo Double Dare, where participants complete both the Disneyland 10K and Half Marathon on back-to-back days, filled up in just 41 minutes. The Disneyland 10K sold out in 53 minutes, followed by the runDisney Kids Races, which closed in 2 hours and 48 minutes. The Disneyland Half Marathon itself sold out in 9 hours and 20 minutes, while the Disneyland 5K closed in 12 hours and 13 minutes.
But if you really want to be a part of the Disneyland Half Marathon 2014 races from August 28-31, you still can if you register through a charity or tour group. Contact the following groups directly to find out how to register for the race through them. Charities will ask runners to raise a certain amount of money for participating in the race, and tour groups may require purchase of a travel package.

As a member of the running media, Disney sometimes provides me with complimentary race entry, hotel, park tickets, and some meals for runDisney events. But as always, all posts and opinions are purely my own. For more information read my Disclosure Policy.
I expected these races to sell out fast, but definitely not THAT fast. So crazy! There are rumors that runDisney is adding another Disneyland race in 2015, so maybe that will help in getting more opportunities for runner’s to do DL races!
They could certainly use it! The DL races are going the way of the Chicago Marathon and Marine Corps marathon. In 2012, the Chicago Marathon sold out in 6 days. In 2013, people anticipated a sell-out, rushed registration, crashed Active.com and the race moved to a lottery. Same with Marine Corps. When they sell-out fast one year, the next year sells even faster because everyone is ready the minute registration opens. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I ran the Dumbo Double Dare last year for the AT Children’s Project (may do it again with them, and am definitely doing the Goofy for them)…it was such an amazing experience. I wrote about it here http://willrunforears.com/2013/10/08/the-a-t-childrens-project/
Sorry, for the plug, but they are so amazing, and it’s such an amazing cause, if you’re debating doing this, please run with them!

I am so glad they allow charity entries since the races sell out so fast!

I think the running for charity option is awesome, and something I would absolutely consider doing! ! can’t believe how quickly the DL races sold out this year! I registered for DDD by 12:30 and couldn’t believe I was seeing reports on Twitter about how it was 50 percent sold out…then 60…then 70…crazy! It IS a fun race, though, and I know we all love those C2C medals — so I can definitely see why. 😀
It’s definitely the most in-demand race. So many Cali runners, C2C seekers, and the like. Plus, Disneyland is really fun! I find is so charming and very different from WDW. That said, I’ve never done that race weekend! Just Tink.

Do you know how I can find a charity to run for in the half marathon wine and dine in November at Disney World? Thanks so much
Hi Melissa, It doesn’t look like they’ve published the charity list for Wine & Dine yet. Check “Charity Groups” under the Registration tab at http://www.rundisney.com/wine-and-dine-half-marathon/ That’s where you’ll eventually find links to all the charities for the race.
