Cinderella & Goofy Inspire New Balance Disney Shoes

At the 2013 Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon, which I attended on a press trip sponsored by New Balance and runDisney,  the two companies announced they were creating another New Balance Disney running shoe for 2014. Now they’ve revealed just which characters they used for inspiration: Sorcerer Mickey for men and Minnie’s pink and white polka dress for women. Plus, they’re creating the shoes in kids sizes too.

The New Balance Disney running shoes will only be available at runDisney race expos in 2014. And don’t worry. This time, there should be plenty of shoes to go around.

“My goal is to not run out of them,” said Josh Rowe with a laugh. The Senior Marketing Manager for New Balance performance sports spoke about the shoes at a press event at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon weekend.

In 2013, New Balance initially created 1,000 pairs of the first edition runDisney Mickey and Minnie inspired shoes. They sold out in just 10 hours at the Walt Disney World Marathon expo before New Balance was able to produce several thousand more pairs for fans. The last group of 2013 shoes sold at the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon expo earlier this month.

Fans will have to wait a bit longer to see the 2014 New Balance Disney running shoes, but here’s a sneak peak at the designs for 2014.
