It’s a very special race for me. It was my first runDisney race, and the place where my husband, Phil, popped the question in 2011. It happened after the race during the Finish Line Party at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. You can read the whole story here.
Two years later, we’re returning to the scene of the crime as newlyweds.
We plan to run the 10 p.m. start race—in costume, of course—and then party the night away wining, dining, and Epcot attraction riding.
In 2011, we stayed until the party closed at 3 a.m. to celebrate our engagement. We were so giddy we took a silly photo in every single country around the World Showcase. Here is the slideshow to prove it.

This year, the party goes until 4 a.m. I already can’t wait! The Finish Line Party at Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon is, without contest, my favorite race after party I’ve ever been to. Epcot, here I come!

I LOVE this post! What an awesome engagement Gabe told me he was trying to wait until NY to propose to me then but couldn’t wait that many months after getting the ring. Talk about perfect photo opps.
I’m sad I wont be joining all of you at Wine Dine this year. It falls on the same day as RnR Savannah. Hopefully we will do this next year – it all depends on wedding planning! Megan recently posted..Grilled Brie with Honey Recipe
NY would have been an amazing engagement, but being proposed to by champagne bottle isn’t bad either! Congrats!! RnR Savannah will be fun. It’s hard picking and choosing which Disney races to do. Wish I could do them all! But Wine & Dine will always be a fave for me for obvious reasons Karla recently posted..Friday Foto: Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Redux
I’m not the fastest runner and I’m not the slowest, but I am a running nerd. A journalist by trade, I love to research, read, learn and cogitate. So stick with me. Like all good nerds, I’ll do the homework and share it. But the running is up to you!
