VIDEO: The 12 Days of Run Disney Christmas

UPDATE 12/22/13: Last year, I got so giddy about running the Walt Disney World Marathon, that I crafted a “12 Days of Christmas” runDisney style. I even recruited my mom and husband to sing along with me. There was lots of giggling.

I tried to incorporate as many runDisney elements as I could. Some of the newer challenges like Dopey and Glass Slipper are missing because they hadn’t been announced yet.

So here is my homage to run Disney Christmas and the Walt Disney World Marathon. In just a few weeks, I’ll be heading to the race again in 2014 to run the Walt Disney World Half Marathon, Walt Disney World 10K and Disney Family Fun Run 5K.

The 12 Days of Run Disney Christmas

The 12 Days of Run Disney Christmas celebrates the spirit of joy that Christmas and Disney bring. For a full list of lyrics, check out my first post on the song: 13.1 Days of Disney Running Christmas. Merry Christmas!

Hey Karla – I was wondering if you had any insight on spectating the Family Fun Run during Disney World Marathon weekend?

My boyfriend is running the 5k on Friday morning and the website is super sparse on details. Is it possible to spectate this race to cheer him on?

      Hi Courtney,

I’ve never spectated the Family Fun Run through Epcot, but I have run one. There were lots of spectators near the start and finish, but none on the course through Epcot. I checked the Family Fun Run final race instructions and it says this about spectators: “Spectators are encouraged to view the 5K start and finish from the Imagine Lot at Epcot. There will be no viewing areas along the course or from within Epcot.” So it’s as I suspected. I’m sure he’d still love a high-five as he’s coming in to the finish. I know I would! And the way things are set-up, you can easily travel with him, be with him before the start to wish him luck and see him off, then cheer him on as he’s coming into the finish. Hope that helps. You can find the final race instructions for all the weekend’s events, inlcuding the 5K here under the “final race instructions” tab. Good luck to your boyfriend and to you too if you are running any of the other events!
